Sub Surface can assess the risks to controlled waters from land contamination to satisfy the requirements of the Environment Agency in support of Environmental Permit applications and the Local Planning Authority in support of planning applications.
Our team of qualified and accredited Chartered Environmental Scientists, Civil Engineers and Geologists and use a range of tools to model the risks to groundwater and surface waters and follow the Environment Agency’s Remedial Targets methodology to ensure full compliance with current UK guidance.
A Phase I Desk Study is initially carried out to establish the preliminary conceptual site model which is then refined through an intrusive Site Investigation. Once the primary risk drivers and potential pollutant pathways have been established the risks to sensitive receptors can be established using modelling software.
If unacceptable risks are identified, we can determine site-specific remedial targets for contaminated soils and groundwater and we are happy to liaise with Specialist Contractors to design the most efficient path to successful remediation.
